Master File Overview
In the Scrap Dragon software,
items that you purchase are referred to as commodities and
items that you sell are referred to as inventory. Many commodities
can be processed and then sold as one inventory item. For example you
may purchase appliances, flattened cars, whole cars and buses (all commodities)
which you shred and sell as the inventory item shredded. Commodities
are given a 'scale price' which is their default selling price. You can
also set up different price lists, and when you associate customers with
these lists it determines the price they are paid for commodities you
buy from them. The following screens will step you through the process
of setting up your Master Files, that is your inventory, commodities,
customers, and price lists. It is important to follow the sequence on
the setup page, as certain things may be required before you can go to
the next step. All of the Master Files Setup screens can be found in the
Back Office Module, under the
Master Files Menu
Setting up inventory
From the Master
Files Menu Select
Inventory; Inventory Master.
These are your Sell Items. The Sell Inventory Items Tab displays
the list of inventory items that have already been setup. Clicking this
tab will display a list of all your inventory items. You may scroll down
and when you find the item you are looking for, you can click on it, then
click on the Inventory Setup tab, and that item will appear for
editing.

Enter your Sell Item
Codes and a Description for each item.
To add a new Inventory item, press the Add
button. Enter the pertinent data and then press save. The Default Button
information is for use in creating button menus for inventory processing.
